Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Ljubljana
Welcome to Ljubljana, the boutique capital with a green heart. Take time to explore one of the most popular Slovenian destinations. Experience its relaxed atmosphere, fall in love with its historic city center, and explore the amazing sights, from the Ljubljana Castle to Dragon Bridge and Tivoli Park. If you’re coming to Slovenia without a bike, we can arrange bike rental and delivery for you, so please let us know your preferences when booking the tour. Upon your request, the bikes will be delivered to you on the day of your arrival. Also, please let us know if you need assistance with your transfers.
Day 2 - Ljubljana - Bled - Bohinj
Distance: 89 km
Elevation gain: 1080 m
Descent: 850 m
Start the morning by cycling from Ljubljana to Bled. This 85.3 km long route will take you from Slovenia’s capital to one of the most beautiful alpine resorts in Europe. After spending some time at the famous Lake Bled, continue toward Bohinj, home of the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia.
Day 3 - Bohinj - Pokljuka Plateau - Kranjska Gora
Distance: 66 km
Elevation gain: 1500 m
Descent: 1240 m
Cycle from Bohinj to Pokljuka, Slovenia’s most beautiful plateau. Although the ascent is a bit challenging, the stunning nature and cottage-filled landscape are absolutely worth the effort. Afterward, head towards the final destination of your day, the lovely alpine town of Kranjska Gora.
Day 4 - Kranjska Gora - Bovec
Distance: 46 km
Elevation gain: 1050 m
Descent: 1380 m
From Kranjska Gora, head to the alpine town of Bovec. The path will take you to the Vršič Pass, the highest Slovenian mountain pass which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountain peaks. On the descent, you’ll cycle through one of Slovenia’s most coveted gems, the lush Soča Valley.
Day 5 - Bovec - Goriška Brda
Distance: 71 km
Elevation gain: 1600 m
Descent: 1790 m
Ready for a change of scenery? Today’s stage will take you from the alpine landscape to Goriška Brda, the beautiful region renowned for its wines. You’ll have a chance to enjoy the scenic countryside and try some of the best Slovenian wines.
Day 6 - Goriška Brda - Štanjel - Lipica
Distance: 58 km
Elevation gain: 880 m
Descent: 720 m
Get ready for a dynamic stage, full of climbs and descents. First, you’ll stop at Štanjel, a medieval village that will impress you with its typical karst architecture and unique panoramic views. From Štanjel, pedal to Lipica, famous for its stud farm and the unique Lipizzaner horses.
Day 7 - Lipica - Piran
Distance: 43 km
Elevation gain: 400 m
Descent: 800 m
The last stage of this bike tour will take you to the coastal town of Piran. Get ready for a beautiful landscape and a lovely ride. Upon reaching Piran, seize the day by exploring its charming narrow streets, visit its famous Tartini Square, and enjoy the beautiful sea views.
Day 8 - Departure
