This tour is designed as an adventure that spans two countries, which means you will not only experience Piran and neighboring Slovenian towns but will also venture across the Croatian border. Along the Parenzana route, you will discover beautiful nature and charming Istrian towns that will captivate you with their architecture and rich history, not to mention the stunning sea views.
The Adriatic Coast, Parenzana and Piran bike tour takes place mainly on gravel, so it is only suitable for gravel and e-bikes.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Koper
Welcome to the vibrant city of Koper, where you’ll start your seaside biking adventure. Seize the day by exploring its medieval city center, enjoy its Venetian-style architecture, and discover its rich historic and cultural heritage. If you’re coming to Slovenia without a bike, we can arrange bike rental and delivery for you, so please let us know your preferences when booking the tour. Upon your request, the bikes will be delivered to you on the day of your arrival. Also, please let us know if you need assistance with your transfers.
Day 2 - Koper - Piran - Grožnjan

Head for an early morning start and get ready for an exciting day ahead. Begin by cruising along the stunning Adriatic coast to Piran, where you’ll be greeted by charming narrow streets, the popular Tartini Square, and beautiful sea views. Afterward, hit the scenic Parenzana trail that will take you to your final stop, the hilltop village Grožnjan, known for its unique artistic vibe and amazing vistas.
Day 3 - Grožnjan - Motovun
Distance: 27 km
Elevation gain: 410 m
Descent: 425 m
Make the most of your morning by exploring Grožnjan’s cobbled streets. Enjoy its numerous art galleries, and get inspired by the stunning landscape surrounding this medieval village. When you’re ready, head back to the Parenzana bike trail and start pedaling toward Motovun. This stage is only about 25 km long, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way before reaching your final stop of the day.
Day 4 - Motovun - Poreč
Distance: 37 km
Elevation gain: 270 m
Descent: 530 m
Wake up in the lovely hilltop village of Motovun, famous not only for its Istrian charm and breathtaking views but also for its rich culinary and cultural heritage. Motovun is home to one of the most prized delicacies, the Istrian truffles, and is also renowned for its independent film festival. After the well-spent morning, hop on your bike and start cruising along the scenic Parenzana trail to the coastal town of Poreč.
Day 5 - Poreč - Umag
Distance: 31 km
Elevation gain: 350 m
Descent: 350 m
Wake up in Poreč and enjoy your morning coffee in one of its many cafes. Afterward, go for a walk through its Roman streets or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. Later, start pedaling along the beautiful Istrian coast toward Umag and enjoy the scenic ride. You will reach Umag in about 30.5 km, so you will have plenty of time to explore your favorite spots.
Day 6 - Umag - Piran
Distance: 35 km
Elevation gain: 330 m
Descent: 320 m
After delighting in Mediterranean vibes and beautiful beaches, it’s time to head back to Slovenia. The Parenzana trail offers captivating views of the Adriatic Sea, making this stage a stunning coastal ride. If you pace yourself right, you might be in Piran just in time for the sunset.
Day 7 - Departure
